What inspired you towards a career in the beauty industry and How did Make u by Fiona come about?
I always had a love for make up and keeping up to the latest trends, I just knew the beauty industry was right for me!I went to LA Creative Academy the summer I completed secondary school and instantly knew make up artistry was for me!

How and where did you train to become a make-up artist?
I trained with the LA Creative Academy. I completed my module 1&2 in Dublin. At the moment I am doing module 3 in Limerick, also with LA Creative Academy.

What is your favorite beauty brand to use?
I love Airbase Airbrush make up! It gives a flawless finish and no need for any touch ups. It allows skin to breathe and is also filled with vitamins!

Do you find it frustrating to walk down the street and see badly applied make up on women?
Yes definitely, I always feel the need to fix it for them!

In your opinion, what is the most common make up mistake that women make?A lot of people seem to have the wrong shade of make up for their skin tone. I would really recommend getting advice off a professional make up artist when buying a foundation.

If you could only have one item in your make up bag what would it be?
I think it would have to be mascara; it gives a massive affect on the overall appearance of the face!

Whats the plan for 'Make up by Fiona' the future?
I hope to open my own make up salon in the future.

What advice would you give some one looking to pursue a career as a make up artist?
I would say follow your heart! Get as much experience as possible between family and friends. Try and get yourself out there, ask around different event organizers and do unpaid work! Always make sure to take images of your work for reference for future jobs!
